Turkey vultures have a heightened sense of smell, allowing them to detect carcasses before other larger scavengers.

    • Length: 26 to 32 inches
    • Wingspan: 67 to 72 inches
  • Diet: Carrion, occasionally will kill and eat small mammals
  • Habitat: Wide variety, anywhere they can find carrion food supply
  • Range in the Wild: Southern Canada to the southern-most part of South America, and is currently expanding further north
